In Canadia

Well, I'm in Canada land now! I got here yesterday after a flight delay of an hour and them managing to lose my luggage for a day. Thankfully the foresight had been made to bring spare clothes should that happen.

But now I'm inside and in one piece no less. So far it has been pretty cold, but not unbearably so, I haven't quite frozen stiff yet. Nearly, but not quite.

Today we went shopping for gifts for Meags' family, on the way I experienced a genuine Canadian McDonalds. Upon entry we were assaulted by a jolly woman who wished us a pleasant eating experience and a merry Christmas. We went to the counter to order and discovered that in Canadaland they have real food in their McDonalds, actual deli sandwiches! Interestingly enough you could make them into a value meal for 2 exta dollars with the choice of fries OR coleslaw. We opted out of such extravegances. During the course of our meal we heard many pleasantries exchanged from the jolly woman who bantered with various customers, I've never seen such a happy McDonalds employee. In fact as we left she apparentely didn't notice us go until we were out the door... because we had walked about half the block when we hear her shout out a "Thanks for coming!" our way. We thought she was about to chase us down or something.

Having braved the cold thus far, we continued our treacherous journey through the frozen north till we reached the safe haven of the Route #1 Bus. We let ourselves off at the mall and walked around for a bit in search of perfect gifts for various people. During this search I took the opportunity to purchase a large Orange Julius since there is no such animal near my humble abode in Texas. It was pretty good, though I feel the hype had exceeded its worth.

All in all we ended up with two picture frames to compliment the handiwork Meags created for people. Her mom will be the proud owner of a cute cat statue type thingamajig, and her sister has a gift secured in her name as well. We've still a thing or two to find, but I'm sure that will come in due time. Due time being Christmas.

Anyhow, I enjoyed the day thanks to good company. This is going to be my last entry for a while since I'll be without internet for a bit during the holidays (Going to Meags' parent's place for Christmas, so no internet till we go back to her apartment in Wolfville) Time to go watch a movie with her!

Up and running once more

Well, looks like I've officially moved the blog over from one server to the next! Took a bit of work, but I have the blog and old entries up and running and now mt-blacklist is also doing its thing. Within the first day of the blog functioning I already had three jerky spammers add entries to the blog!

In other news, last week I got pretty sick with strep throat... but thanks to the wonderful antibiotic Zithromax I was able to combat the problem, much to its dismay. I'm really liking this Zithromax stuff. Not only did it clear my throat right up, but it is fun to say! Say it with me "Zithromax." Wasn't that more fun than whatever you are currently doing? (I'll give you a hint, you are bored so you are reading my blog... so yes, it was more exciting) I kind of think that it sounds like a household cleaner or detergent or something. "Get your whites whiter with ZITHROMAX" - Indeed it isn't too far off a description as my throat is now clean of any evil bacteria that would prefer lurking in the shadows.

I'm still fighting it, but it is losing in spades. Pretty much the only thing wrong with me is a cough of ever lessening frequency. Yesterday I think I might have coughed a massive three times or so. I can't wait to be rid of this thing, I want to go to Canada in full health, for who knows what treacherous things lie ahead in the Canadian Winter? I sure don't!
